A couple steps back
It has not been that long since I last wrote you guys an update though a lot has changed for Molly. As you know, her recovery had been going perfectly and we could not have been more happy. We had talked to the neurology team at Canada West and we were told Molly would be ok to spend Christmas around others and walk around as long as she was kept to one area. Christmas Eve had gone great and I was so happy to see Molly out and about.

Christmas day came and right before Molly was set to leave to go back home, she and my brothers pug got into a fight over a new toy. That night Molly was not herself and was showing signs of pain and discomfort. She would fall asleep, wake up and start panting until she would calm herself down and eventually fall back asleep. On repeat.
The next day we brought her to the Emergency Vet. We knew something was wrong. We thought maybe she had done to much to soon and that she had exhausted herself. Or maybe those were our hopes for her. The vet felt as though her pain was not from her back as we had thought, but from her neck. She recommended that we take Molly back to Canada West so the neurology team could take a look at her and have an MRI done.
I could not believe only 6 weeks later and we were back to Canada West. That we were back to not knowing how everything was going to turn out. I was devastated.
The neurology team felt as though Molly had done some damage to her neck and that that was were her pain seemed to be coming from. We had to keep her at Canada West over night so that she would be able to have some relief from the discomfort. The next day Molly had a CT scan done on both her back and neck.
When we heard back from Dr.Sharpe that her CT scan on her back had come back normal, we could not have been more happy. He then told us that she had herniated a disc on the base of her neck and though not severe, was causing her a lot of discomfort. With all of the problems Molly has been dealt, 3 years had played a toll on her body, whether 6 weeks from her surgery or a year down the road, we could have never known.
Dr. Sharpe then went on to tell us that he felt as though Molly would heal with a few months rest and that as of now surgery was not urgent. We have been home for a couple days now and Molly has been doing well on her pain medications. We know we have a long road ahead of us with Molly though we are ready to help her any way we can. We have done a lot of research into acupuncture and have heard so many great stories of success and we hope to get Molly started as soon as we can.
We are very hopeful for our Molly and her recovery. She amazes me everyday and she has been so strong. Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts and thank you to all of you who helped us with your donations.
Thank you!!
More updates to come
